Serena Davanzo, a Pennsylvania native, graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a BA in Journalism and a BA in Theatre in December 2022.
She joins WOAY as a weekend news anchor and producer and Multimedia Journalist.
She was a reporter and producer for the Centre County Report and interned for Prompt: A Journal of Theatre Theory, Practice, and Teaching and #HereToo Project: Stories of Youth Activism, where she served as the podcast editing intern for both. She was recently a student participant in the American Pavilion’s Film and Business program at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023.

During her time at Penn State, she was the Vice President for the Penn State chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. She was also a member of the Penn State Blue Band Silks, and served as Squad Leader, and Disney Club at Penn State. She worked as a Maker-in-Residence in the Maker Commons of the Pennsylvania State University’s Pattee and Paterno Library when not reporting. She took a semester abroad in London, England and studied at the Theatre Academy London.
