Senior from Princeton High School wins 50,000 dollar scholarship from Doritos

PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – A Princeton Senior won a 50,000 dollar scholarship from Doritos.

With high school commencement ceremonies being canceled across the nation, earlier this month Doritos launched the search for the “Doritos Valedictorian” – a program designed to give graduating high school seniors a significant platform to have their voices heard during this trying time along with $50,000 in tuition assistance to five lucky speakers.

Thousands of graduating seniors submitted a short version speech, and this week, Doritos is pleased to announce that local graduate Grace Campbell from Princeton’s speech has been selected to be broadcast to listeners around the country via iHeartMedia’s podcast special.  Their speech will be shared alongside some of the boldest thought-leaders and cultural icons such as Bill and Melinda Gates, Tim Cook, and more.

Grace Campbell from Princeton says: “I’d like to say this, even though it’s bold of me and even though I don’t know every person listening on a personal level, I feel the need to tell you – it’s going to be okay.”
