West Virginia (WOAY) A southern West Virginia nonprofit is expanding its recovery support services after securing more than $450,000 in grants.
Seed Sower Inc. has received a federal building communities of recovery grant worth nearly $350,000 annually for three years.
The organization says it was the only West Virginia recipient of the grant.
The funding will help The Well, southern West Virginia’s only recovery community organization, expand peer recovery support services across ten counties.
The program will use mobile outreach to connect people with treatment, housing, and employment, while also strengthening the peer recovery workforce.
Seed Sower also received a $105,000 grant from the west Virginia bureau for behavioral health.
The money will be used to establish an adult peer center serving people 18 and older in Raleigh and surrounding counties.
The center will provide a safe, nonjudgmental space, along with peer support, information, referrals, advocacy and socialization opportunities.
