Beckley, WV (WOAY) A free Mental Health First Aid training course is coming to Beckley this week.
Seed Sower will host the certification training on Friday, June 12, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at The Well on Howe Street.
The course teaches adults how to recognize and respond to mental health and substance use challenges, including anxiety, depression, and crisis situations.
Organizers say the training can also help participants meet requirements for the PRSS-MH designation when paired with QPR Suicide Prevention training.
The class is being offered at no cost through funding from the West Virginia First Foundation, but seating is limited.
Registration is required, and participants must complete pre-course work before attending.
