Secretary of State Kris Warner advises election officials and the public to rely on official sources for election guidance as November 3 election approaches

West Virginia (WOAY) With November’s General Election approaching, Secretary of State Kris Warner is reminding election officials and the public to rely on official sources for election guidance.

Warner says his office has received reports of election-related training offered by organizations outside the state’s official election administration system.

While election security and preparedness remain priorities, Warner cautions that unofficial training should not be mistaken for official guidance on state election laws or procedures.

He says the Secretary of State’s Office works with county clerks and state and federal partners to assess potential threats, prepare for Election Day, and ensure elections are conducted safely and securely.

Warner also encourages West Virginians to ask questions, raise concerns, and report potential threats, emphasizing that election security is a shared responsibility.

Voters can find official election information at GoVoteWV.com, sos.wv.gov, or by contacting their county clerk.
