Beckley, WV (WOAY)—One Raleigh County resident is hosting a free sneaker giveaway to help kids put their best foot forward.
The event kicks off this Saturday, April 13, and continues through Sunday, April 14.
The giveaway starts at noon and ends at 3:00 pm each day at 106 Hager Street in Beckley.
While everyone is welcome to attend the giveaway on both days, each child will be limited to one pair of shoes per day to give everyone a chance to receive a pair.
Numerous shoe brands will be available in sizes ranging from toddlers to men’s size 12.
All sneakers are in good condition, and some are brand new.
Event founder Jeremiah Schofield is a passionate shoe collector who wanted to find a way to boost kids’ confidence while alleviating parent’s financial burden in shopping for growing children.
There will be another giveaway event this summer before school begins, and Schofield is accepting donations from anyone who would like to contribute.
