Run for Heroes 5K returns to Concord University

The Run for Heroes 5k race at Concord University is returning to campus after nine years without it.

The race benefits student veterans at Concord, and organizers will hold a moment of silence in honor of fallen and wounded soldiers.

“Student veterans are often non-traditional, juggling a family, work, and school. The [Concord University Office of Veterans Services] assists veterans and their dependents in all facets of higher education, from application and academics to financial and social support,” Dr. George Williams, CU Veterans Advocate, said.

The course design is meant to honor the sacrifices of United States military personnel.

The race is happening on Oct. 7. Same-day registration opens at 8 a.m. and starts at 9.

Pre-register by Sept. 23 to receive a discounted rate and a guaranteed T-shirt.
