RONCEVERTE, WV (WOAY)—Roncertverte Elementary School will be getting some new attendees, but not what you may think. Greenbrier County Schools announced that the environmental program Trout in the Classroom will begin next school year.
All the students from Pre-K to 5th grade will have the opportunity to raise trout in the classroom as well as learn about a variety of topics about fish habitats. Teachers will get curriculum kits that align with West Virginia science standards that’ll help provide quality instruction.
The program also offers funding for related field trips for 3rd to 5th-grade students. This is all sponsored by Trout Unlimited.
