BEAVER, WV (WOAY) – Raleigh County educator and pastor Rollan Roberts has won another term in the State Senate.
According to the Associated Press, Roberts defeated Democrat Christy Cardwell in the general election for State Senate District 9.
Roberts is one of the most conservative members of the state senate. Organizations including West Virginians for Life, the Conservative Leadership Alliance and the West Virginia Coal Association endorsed him.
Roberts is an administrator at Victory Baptist Academy and pastor at Victory Baptist Church.
In May, Roberts held off Republican primary challenges from Beckley physician Michael Antolini and Delegate Adam Vance. Senator Shelley Moore Capito endorsed Antolini in that race.
