Road closure announced in Greenbrier County for maintenance

GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia Division of Highways announces that Alta Vista Road will be closed to through traffic according to James F. Moore, District Nine Maintenance Engineer.

Slope stabilization work will begin on Greenbrier County Route 56, Alta Vista Road, on Friday, April 17, 2020, at 7:00 a.m. The project is located approximately one half (1/2) mile south of the junction with CR 48, River Road.

The work will take approximately 8 days to finish and should be completed before Saturday, April 25, 2020.

Alta Vista Road will be closed to through traffic between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, during this period. Local traffic will have access to all properties along Alta Vista Road via River Road, Hokes Mill Road, and Pit Road.

Please be advised that inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances may change the work schedule.
