BLUEFIELD, WV (WOAY) – On Monday, Bluefield Ridge Runners infielder Michael Eze was named the Appalachian League Player of the Week.
Over the past week, Eze went 11-17 at the plate (.647 batting average). He hit two doubles, two triples and 6 RBI. Eze is a rising sophomore at Georgetown University.
Thanks in part to Eze’s offensive output, the Ridge Runners are off to a 3-1 start to the season. At 4-0, only the Princeton Whistlepigs have a better record to start the year.
Next up, Bluefield travels to North Carolina to face the Burlington Sock Puppets on Tuesday and Wednesday.
