Nicholas County, WV (WOAY) – A Richwood man is facing a murder charge after state police say a dispute between neighbors ended in a fatal shooting in Nicholas County.
The West Virginia State Police say Ross Adkins Jr., 31, of Richwood shot and killed his neighbor, Nathan Facemire, 44, also of Richwood, during a confrontation Wednesday evening.
Troopers from the Summersville and Richwood detachments responded to a reported shooting on Cheyenne Drive in Holcomb around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to state police. Investigators say the two men became involved in a dispute and that Facemire was fatally shot during the confrontation.
State police say Adkins was arrested without incident and charged with murder. He was taken to Central Regional Jail, where he is awaiting arraignment.
The West Virginia State Police Crime Scene Team processed the scene, and troopers say next of kin has been notified.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to state police.
