Richlands, VA (WOAY) The Richlands Police Department is warning the community about reports of a phone scam.
Authorities have received several reports of people getting calls from individuals claiming to be law enforcement.
The scammers are requesting money for ankle-monitoring deposits and asking victims to send it through Cash App.
The Richlands Police Department advises everyone that these calls are a scam and the callers are not involved with law enforcement.
If you receive a call like this, hang up immediately and do not provide any personal or financial information.
