Restaurants get much-needed boost during Memorial Day Weekend

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – As warm weather accompanies Memorial Day Weekend, many people are heading outside to enjoy their communities.

Restaurants have been happy to take advantage of this, with many reopening and gaining back some of their lost revenue from the months prior.

For instance, Riverchick Farm set up shop in downtown Fayetteville with a food truck and was happy to serve the community.

“They’ve only been able to do takeout orders until this weekend. So the restaurants have been busy, and the food truck has been busy. I think people are appreciating being able to walk up and order their food out of a safe, contained environment and eat it outside, whether they’re going out on the trails or out rafting,” owner, Nicole Linkfield said.

Restaurants have been able to open up for inside service since last Thursday, May 21.
