Beckley, WV (WOAY) It’s almost time for a fall tradition to swing back around to Raleigh County.
The city of Beckley is preparing for its annual Chili Night, taking place on Saturday, October 3.
The competition is open to restaurants, businesses, organizations, and schools.
Chili participants are encouraged to prepare homemade chili, from 5 gallons in the schools’ category to at least 10 gallons in the restaurant category.
Participants must also be approved by the health department in advance, have a booth member with a health card, and may need to purchase a health permit.
There are still spaces open for those interested in entering the fall food gauntlet.
Registration closes on Friday, September 25.
In addition to the chili competition, chili night features several stages of entertainment.
The block party along the streets of downtown Beckley is considered to be one of the biggest events held in the city each year.
Booth details and the registration form can be found at the Beckley Events website in the “Documents’ section.
