Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – The second person involved in that Mercer County witness tampering case has been sentenced.
Laurel Blankenship was convicted of helping her husband, Terry Blankenship, silence a witness who alleged that Terry Blankenship had paid her for sexual activity.
The witness later recanted that allegation. Investigators discovered jail video and audio calls between Terry and Laurel Blankenship, in which they discussed bribing the victim to keep her quiet.
Laurel Blankenship was sentenced to two years in prison. As we reported yesterday, Terry Blankenship was sentenced to twelve years in prison. You can read that report here.
