Charleston, WV (WOAY) A registered sex offender is facing a new felony charge in Kanawha County after deputies say he threatened a man with a firearm.
The sheriff’s office says a 2026 warrant was obtained for Harrison Shaffer following an investigation into an alleged incident on August 17.
According to the criminal complaint, Shaffer allegedly pulled out a gun, chambered a round, and pointed it at a man while threatening to shoot him.
Shaffer was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment involving a firearm.
A $20,000 bond with a 10% cash option was set.
The required $2,000 was posted by a third party, and Shaffer was released.
The sheriff’s office says Shaffer has also faced several other charges this year, including firearm, drug, obstruction, and sex offender registry violations.
Shaffer is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
