Beckley, WV (WOAY) A member of Raleigh General Hospital’s trauma team has earned a rare professional distinction.
Trauma Registrar Josh Vance has received the Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist, or CAISS, credential, making him one of only six people in West Virginia to hold the certification.
Hospital leaders say the credential recognizes advanced expertise in trauma injury coding and data collection, which helps improve patient outcomes, support injury prevention efforts, and maintain national quality standards.
Raleigh General says Vance’s achievement strengthens its commitment to providing high-quality trauma care as a Level III Trauma Center.
