BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Raleigh General Hospital (RGH) continues to work closely with the Beckley-RaleighCounty Health Department the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (WVDHHR) and is following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure the hospital is prepared with the appropriate plans to detect, protect and respond should anyone in the community contract or be exposed to coronavirus (COVID-19). With the health and safety of our patients, families, employees and community in mind, effective March 22, 2020, Raleigh General Hospital will temporarily suspended all visitation to our facility.
RGH will work with extended families who have special circumstance, such as critically ill or injured family members, on a case-by-case basis. Signage is being posted around the facilities notifying the community of these new restrictions and guidelines.
Though Raleigh General Hospital has not yet had a positive case of COVID-19, these restrictions and changes are necessary to protect the health of patients, staff and community.
