Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Raleigh General Hospital has been recognized for excellence in its stroke care for the sixth year in a row.
The hospital has received the American Heart Association’s Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for its timely and appropriate stroke treatment programs that save lives and reduce disability.
Raleigh General is one of six hospitals in West Virginia to win the award. The hospital offers an in-person neurologist and stroke care team.
Stroke is the fourth leading cause of death in America and happens when a blood vessel supplying blood to the brain gets blocked.
