Coal City, WV (WOAY) – The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office is investigating following reports of students allegedly making threats at Independence Middle School.
The Sheriff’s Office reportedly responded to several calls yesterday afternoon and evening regarding the incident.
Deputies followed up on these calls by interviewing the students who allegedly communicated the threats and witnesses.
Authorities have not been able to confirm the validity of these allegations but have assigned extra deputies to the school out of an abundance of caution.
