Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Authority hosting public workshop on November 18 for community feedback on proposed master plan

Beckley, WV (WOAY)- The Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Authority (RCPRA) is taking a big step toward shaping the future of outdoor fun.

They’re creating a new master plan to guide the growth and improvement of the places we all love to visit.

The plan will take a close look at all of the county’s recreational facilities, from Lake Stephens and Fitzpatrick Park to the Clear Fork Rail Trail and future sites like Glen Morgan Creekside Park.

It will also explore gaps in access, opportunities for new programming, and how recreation can boost economic development for the entire region.

To help build that plan, the authority is partnering with the GAI Consultants’ Community Solutions Group.

And now they want to hear from you.

A public workshop will take place on Tuesday, November 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Raleigh County Commission Office on North Heber Street in downtown Beckley.

Community members are welcome to share ideas, priorities, and feedback on what they’d like to see in their parks.

If you can’t make it in person, an online survey will be available on the Raleigh County Parks website and will remain open through December 18.
