Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office held a ceremony Wednesday morning in Judge Kirby’s courtroom in the Raleigh County Judicial Annex.
Public safety Medal of Valor awards and Distinguished Officer awards were given to different officers in the sheriff’s department for courageous acts that helped individuals in their time of need, often times saving a life.
Awards were also given to non-officers who assist within the department.
The last award given was for Officer of the Year, which went to Sergeant B.J. Adkins.
