Raleigh County man sentenced to eight years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm

A federal court has sentenced a Raleigh County man to more than three years in federal prison for retaliating against a government witness

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – A Raleigh County man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Alfred Pittman was caught with a gun at a traffic stop in April of 2023. Officers found a semi-automatic handgun and a thirty-two-round magazine.

He was previously convicted on felony robbery charges, which meant he was prohibited from owning a gun.

He has also been convicted of domestic battery and unlawful assault.
