Raleigh County man sentenced for money laundering charges

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – A Raleigh County man has been sentenced to three years of probation for money laundering charges.

James E. Monroe, Jr. of Daniels pleaded guilty to misrepresenting his assets and the sale of those assets on a petition for bankruptcy.

Monroe admitted that he didn’t disclose his sale of 10,000 sports trading cards and the sale of his home in Glade Springs for $525,000.

He also did not disclose several loans he had received and personal property kept in a storage unit.
