Raleigh County man pleads guilty to federal gun crime

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – A Raleigh County man entered a guilty plea to a firearms charge in federal court on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

34-year-old Nathaniel Wilburn on Ghent, WV could spend up to 15 years in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm at his sentencing set for September 4, 2026.

According to court documents, on October 30, 2024, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Nathaniel Wilburn’s residence and discovered multiple firearms. As part of his guilty plea, Wilburn admitted to possessing the firearms.

Due to a prior felony conviction in Raleigh County from November 2023, Wilburn was prohibited from possessing a firearm by federal law.
