Raleigh County man charged with burglary, obstruction, and more

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Sheriff Frank Priddy has informed Newswatch about the arrest of a Raleigh County man.

Rusty Riley has been charged with burglary and obstruction. He also had outstanding warrants for burglary and running away from police.

On May 12, Deputy J. Payne was dispatched to the Glen White area in Raleigh County due to a reported breaking and entering that had happened the day before. The investigation led to the identification of Riley as a suspect, and he was charged with burglary.

On May 24, deputies were dispatched to handle an intoxicated person complaint back in the Glen White area.

Once the police arrived, Riley ran away from the officers. Deputy Villers obtained warrants for him as a result.

On May 25, Deputy Payne responded to another burglary complaint in Glen White, where he was once again identified as a suspect. Cpl. J. Howard and his K9, Scio, were able to track Riley to a residence where he was trying to hide.

Riley resisted arrest and tried to escape, but police were able to safely apprehend him.
