Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center and Raleigh County Schools to hold simulated school bus rollover on October 14

Glen Daniel, WV (WOAY) Emergency crews in Raleigh County are preparing for a simulated school bus rollover to sharpen their response skills.

The Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center and Raleigh County Schools will hold a full-day training exercise Wednesday, October 14, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Liberty High School baseball field.

The exercise will bring together local fire departments, law enforcement, EMS, school transportation personnel, and students from the Academy of Careers and Technology to practice passenger rescue, medical response, and communication during a simulated bus accident.

Organizers say the goal is to strengthen coordination between agencies and help ensure they’re prepared to respond when seconds matter.

Parking is available behind Liberty High School.

If that lot fills up, attendees should park at Trap Hill Middle School.
