Get ready for a week of rain ahead—woohoo! As we begin to settle into fall, it’s nice to have some rainy days in the mix. The first rain showers could start tonight, but they’re more likely to hold off until after midnight. By tomorrow morning, many of you will be waking up to wet lawns and cars, and possibly even some thunder.
Throughout Monday, rain will be isolated to scattered across southern West Virginia. Tuesday looks like another rainy day, with heavy downpours moving through the region over the next few days. These storms could trigger a few flash flood warnings, so if you receive one, please try to stay home or stay safe wherever you are.
Expect foggy mornings as well, and temperatures will hang around the 70s all week long. As we look toward next weekend, things might dry out a bit, but there’s still a chance for more rain then. We’ll keep you posted as we get closer.
On the bright side, this week’s rain could help relieve some of the drought conditions in the area. However, it’s shaping up to be a tough year when it comes to the drought, no matter how much rain we get.
Stay safe and dry, and have a great week ahead!
