Rainelle votes to cancel fall festival

RAINELLE, WV (WOAY) – Rainelle Town Council voted on Monday night to cancel this year’s fall festival.

Councilman John Wyatt says the council wanted to cancel after the recent church outbreak in Lewisburg.

However, Wyatt voted against cancelling the festival and concert because he says it is only local people and he believes they can still keep their distance outdoors.

“I know this scare from the outbreak at Lewisburg and the church over there it’s got people on the edge, but somehow we can’t let this unseen enemy, this virus, defeat us,” Wyatt said.

The festival was scheduled for September.
