Rainelle, WV (WOAY)- It’s been 50 years since Rainelle Medical Center opened its doors.
In 1974, the team and coverage area were both much smaller.
Today, the center serves parts of Greenbrier, Fayette, Nicholas, and Summers County and employs a significant number of people locally.
Multiple local leaders spoke at the ceremony, including Rainelle Mayor Andy Pendleton and Tammy Tincher, president of the Greenbrier County commissioners.
According to CEO Kristi Atha Raider, the center’s mission is to serve the people in the area, many of whom lack access to healthcare.
The Fayette County Commerce also cut the ribbon on the Rainelle Medical Center’s new mobile access care center.
The new truck-based center will offer various services, potentially including dental services.
According to Atha Raider, the center will also help them serve schools better.
