RAINELLE, WV (WOAY) – A local contractor is facing up to ten years in prison for defrauding customers.
Shannon M. Davis, a 50-year-old man from Rainelle, pled guilty to felony charges of fraudulent schemes.
Back in January, the Fayette County Sheriff’s office began investigating a report of a contractor taking money from a potential customer and then never doing the work.
The victim said he paid Davis $3000 to begin replacing a fence.
Davis took the money, never did any work, and then refused to contact the victim or return the money.
He will spend at least a year behind bars before he is eligible for parole.
