It was a relatively mild afternoon around southern West Virginia, with temperatures in the 40s and 50s as we ended the day. Tonight, readings will fall off quickly at first, then more slowly as the cloud cover rolls in ahead of the next system. Lows will be near or below the freezing mark in portions of Pocahontas County and in the upper 30s and lower 40s elsewhere.
Tomorrow, we’ll see plenty of clouds all day and, later on, a chance for showers as a system passes to the north. With highs in the mid to upper 50s, even in the mountains, the precipitation will fall as rain instead of snow.

It will be breezy tomorrow and tomorrow night as the low interacts with high pressure over the Gulf. Lows tomorrow night will be in the lower to middle 40s, held up by the cloud cover, the scattered showers, and a westerly flow. Rainfall amounts will be small, less than a tenth of an inch, for almost all locations.
After a couple of nice days on Wednesday and Thursday, another low will pass to our north. This one will be able to pull up warm and very moist air into the region from the Gulf. Rain will be likely on Friday and Saturday, but temperatures will actually rise into the upper 50s and lower 60s

Warm-weather lovers will no doubt like that! But people who want to see more seasonable weather return won’t have to wait long. Eventually, the cold front portion of that strong late-week low swings through, and temperatures drop off by more than 20 degrees between Saturday and Sunday. Some snow could even mix in later on Sunday as temperatures go into a freefall.
