WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Conditions remain chilly this morning. Isolated visibility issues are popping up as fog forms in the lowlands to our northwest. If you encounter any fog, remember to use your low beams and drive carefully. Skies remain clear, so fog should burn up as the sun shines.
Afternoon temperatures rise into the mid-60s, making for another comfortable day. You will be able to shed the heavy layers, but you will want to keep them around if you are staying out until after sunset. Temperatures will fall a bit quicker than usual due to how dry the air is. This forecast may sound familiar, which is an indication of how little things have changed since Monday. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the latest:
The only weather of note within the eastern third of the country is a nor’easter forming off the coast. This system will bring coastal flooding, beach erosion, gusty winds, and rough surf to towns across the Mid-Atlantic and New England. The National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on this system, as it has potential to form into a tropical system. As for us, this system will have no impact. High pressure is persistent in the northeast, which will keep the majority of the eastern states in the clear.
The high-pressure system will continue to linger for a while longer, leading to dry and cool conditions. Chilly mornings, seasonable afternoons, and no rainfall will continue through the weekend and into early next week. Skies remain mostly sunny, which will enhance the comfortable feeling during the afternoon and evening. A front will try to poke into the region next week, but will not bring anything into our area until at least Thursday. Here’s the 7-Day Forecast:
