Princeton Police reminds community of Mercer Street road closure for Monster Mash and shares Halloween Safety Tips

Princeton, WV (WOAY) – The Princeton Police Department is reminding drivers that Mercer Street, from 5th Street to Park Avenue, will be closed Friday from 5 to 8 PM for the annual Monster Mash celebration. 

The family-friendly event brings the community downtown for a safe and festive Halloween evening.

Police are asking drivers to plan alternate routes and allow extra time for travel during the closure. 

Officers will be out in full force, both downtown and in neighborhoods, to ensure everyone enjoys a safe night of Halloween fun. 

Police are also sharing a few safety reminders:

Use crosswalks, carry a flashlight or wear something reflective, and parents, make sure to accompany young trick-or-treaters. 

Drivers are urged to slow down and watch for pedestrians.
