Princeton Community Hospital begins use of new COVID-19 tests that yield results in 90 minutes

PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – Princeton Community Hospital has recently obtained new COVID-19 testing kits that can yield results in just over an hour.

Rose Morgan, Vice president of patient care services at the hospital, says the new tests and their quick results will help their doctors make much more accurate medical decisions on patients in critical care.

“The testing can be turned around in as little as an hour and a half. We will be able to know, especially for patients admitted to critical care on vents, whether or not they are positive. It will also help us to make medical decisions about the person coming off the vent,” Morgan said.

The hospital only has sixty of the new testing kits and plans to prioritize them on patients in dire need of quick diagnoses.
