Prime Rib takes center stage this Thanksgiving

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – While some people don’t like turkey, others are getting bored with it.

At Tony’s Quality Meats, they say when it comes to alternatives, many customers are turning to prime rib.

They encouraged everyone to order ahead to get the meat they wanted because  Thanksgiving Week has been seriously frenzied.

“I think it’s just whatever you want. I mean, people’s tastes change over the years and just trying to break away from the monotony of a turkey all the time or every Thanksgiving,” said Store Manager Heather McVey. “And some people still want the turkey and ham.”

According to McVey, Tony’s sells a boneless prime rib all year long.

“A lot of people do the whole tenderloins so they can do a roast and cut it into steaks however they want,” McVey said. “And some people even do like a pork roast.”

She says there are all kinds of alternatives.

“Even some people just want to do a good old-fashioned pot roast.”
