While President Trump says he is “not joking” about wanting to run for a third term, it is impermissible by the 22nd Amendment.
Revising the Constitution would be an uphill battle and not likely to come to fruition.
Yet, the president has said there are ways.
Some West Virginia residents shared their thoughts about Trump serving again.
“There are two consecutive terms into place for a reason,” said Huntington resident Michelle Massie. ” And I would probably think that it was not the best idea for him to run for a third term.”
For Wyoming County resident Kory Lester, a third-term is a kind of test to see how Trump fares.
“But I think we should be able to take a chance on it,” he said. “Maybe in three terms, the President would have more time to change things. Also, the progress he starts to make can continue instead of the next term coming in and changing everything.”
