Prescribed burn scheduled for Greenbrier County

Greenbrier County, WV (WOAY) – Residents who live in portions of Greenbrier County may see smoke in the area on Friday, April 18, 2025.

According to a press release from the U.S. Forest Service, a prescribed burn is scheduled for Brushy Mountain Units 1,3,5 (Greenbrier County, Pond Lick Road and Slash Lick Road) on the Marlinton-White Sulphur Ranger District. The area contains approximately 637 acres.

Officials with the U.S. Forest Service say the plan is to begin around 9:00 a.m., burning will last for several hours with smoke being visible in the area.
