Charleston, WV (WOAY) – The Powerball jackpot climbs to stratospheric heights as the total rises to an estimated $1.3 billion after nobody picked the winning numbers.
The numbers drawn on Monday, September 1, 2025, were 8, 23, 25, 40, 53, with the Powerball 5.
As of today, no one has matched all six numbers since May 31. The $1.3 billion jackpot will be the fifth-largest prize in Powerball history if there is a winner in the drawing Wednesday night.
Before the $1.3 million dollar mark the estimated jackpot was $1.1 billion before taxes.
Although no one successfully picked the numbers to win the grand prize, two tickets were sold in Montana and North Carolina awarding each person $2 million.
$1 million winners were drawn in California, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey (2) New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
The winner of the jackpot can choose to spread the winnings out receiving payments over a 30-year period or an immediate lump sum in cash before taxes, which now stands at $589 million.
The next drawing for the Powerball jackpot is scheduled for September 3, 2025.
