Greenbrier County, WV (WOAY) – A power outage leaves a portion of Southern West Virgina in the dark.
According to First Energy, approximately 21,000 customers are currently without service. 16,000 of those customers impacted are in Greenbrier County.
The company tells WOAY that the reason for the outage is due to a Dominion Energy high-voltage transmission line that feeds multiple Mon Power substations being damaged on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.Â
Dominion is currently working to repair the damage and reenergize the line. The company estimates that the majority of impacted customers will have service restored by 6 pm today.
