For those with fandom in their heart — Batman, Superman, Pokémon, gaming, and much more — that three-day pop culture convention Causeacon kicks off at 11:30 am on April 25 in the Beckley Convention Center.
All the money raised at Causeacon gets donated to AWAY (formerly the Women’s Resource Center).
“AWAY provides such fantastic services for men, women and children who suffer from domestic and sexual violence. A lot of people don’t realize it’s open to anyone who needs their services,” said Event Organizer Desiree Christian. “So to be able to raise money for them and for them to help the community, is just fantastic.”
According to Christian, Causeacon has so much to offer, from game shows to panels to celebrity guests.
“We have some new events happening this year. We’re doing a squid game show, which you will walk away from, I promise; the Minecraft corner, ramen bar, bingo, Galactic Rave,” the event organizer said, adding that attending Causeacon is the best way to contribute to AWAY.
“We have single-day tickets for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and a weekend pass where you can enjoy all three days. We have different events happening each day, so you don’t want to miss this.”
