Plateau Action Network invites volunteers to join Summersville Lake Clean Up on August 30

Summersville, WV (WOAY)- Grab your gloves and get ready to make a difference!

The Plateau Action Network invites the community to join a Summersville Lake Clean-Up event on Saturday, August 30, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 

Volunteers will meet at the Salmon Run Boat Launch parking lot to help clean up the nearby Salmon Run Point Trail. 

All necessary cleanup supplies will be provided, including gloves, pickers, and bags.

Bud’s Recycling will also be on hand to help sort recyclables and sweep up any broken glass. 

All volunteers will receive a complimentary lunch as a token of appreciation for their efforts.

However, to receive a lunch, interested volunteers must register in advance.

If you’ve got a boat or paddleboard, you are more than welcome to help out from the water, too. 

After the cleanup, stick around for a community brainstorming session with Summersville Lake managers and local groups to explore ways to keep this beloved recreation spot clean and litter-free.
