Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – The New River Gorge National Park and Preserve has planned a prescribed burn for approximately thirty-seven acres near Grandview tomorrow.
The area is east of I64, five miles off exit 129.
The fire will help preserve a natural field, making the habitat better for grassland birds.
The fire manager will evaluate things like wind speed and direction and fuel conditions to make sure the burn is safe before starting the fire.
The burn will last several hours. Traffic is not expected to be affected.
