Philadelphia leads WTT standings going into final week

WOAY – With one week left in the World TeamTennis regular season at the Greenbrier, all nine teams are still in the hunt for one of the four semifinal berths.

Thursday’s matches, which were all played indoors due to the weather, started with Springfield winning four sets over San Diego in a 22-18 victory; it’s the Lasers’ first back-to-back wins of the season. The Orlando Storm benefited from the continued high-quality play of Tennys Sandgren in their 22-16 win over Vegas.

In the evening, the Washington Kastles dominated from the opening points against Orange County, winning 25-11 in the most lopsided score of the season to date.

Three matches are scheduled for Friday starting at 11 AM. The top four teams following matches on July 30 will advance to the semifinals on August 1.
