Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – Maybe you’ve noticed a film crew setting up around Fayette and Raleigh counties over the last week.
It’s the production stage of the feature film Pharma Heist.
It is based on actual events experienced by retired former Beckley detective Gant Montgomery, who wrote the screenplay and is the film’s producer and co-director.
The film focuses on the height and aftermath of the period when highly addictive opioids flooded the state of West Virginia, which began in the 1990s.
WOAY caught up with the film crew at the historic Oak Hill School last Thursday night.
