FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – Cy Persinger has won the race for House of Delegates District 51.
According to the Associated Press, Persinger defeated Democrat Colby Lopez in the general election by nine hundred votes.
Persinger is a lifelong Fayette County resident and works as a business analyst at Rainelle Medical Center.
He won the Republican nomination in May after unseating incumbent Delegate Marshall Clay and defeating businessman Dan Hill.
“Fayette County has the right people, and I think that Fayette County has a lot of hardworking people who are willing to do what it takes. But we need leaders who are willing to go out and make Fayette County a place where everyone can prosper,” Persinger told NewsWatch back in the spring. “People want to be heard. They have issues that they face every single day. I want to be able to go out in those communities and I want to be a voice for those people so that we can find solutions for the problems that they have.
