Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – A train accident claims the life of a man in Fayette County.
According to a media release from Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen, on the evening of Friday July 4, 2025, Fayette County deputies responded to an incident involving a train and a pedestrian near Boonesborough Road.
According to the release, the investigation reveals that the man was walking along the railroad tracks when he was hit by an oncoming train. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.Â
Out of respect for the family deputies are withholding the identity of the victim at this time.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
