Partnership with ICE leads to multiple immigration arrests

Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – Governor Patrick Morrisey says the West Virginia State Police has made 12 immigration arrests in Fayette County in partnership with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Governor Morrisey announced the partnership earlier this year. The agreement allows designated officers to perform immigration enforcement under the oversight of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

All 12 people were arrested by the parkways interdiction team Sunday and Monday along Interstate 77 near Pax.

They are being held in Southern Regional Jail.
