WHIPPLE, WV (WOAY) – The New River Parents as Teachers Program is offering an online reading program for families.
Parents as Teachers is a free program offered through New River Health. Their goal is to help parents become educated on how to best teach their children in the early stages of their development.
According to the program’s director Brenda McClung, they’ve recently begun live readings of children’s books to promote early education with families.Â
“We do Facebook readings the first and third Fridays of every month at 11 A.M. They’re geared towards the ages of 2-5. We do them to promote literacy and school readiness,” McClung said.Â
The Parents as Teachers Program serves dozens of families in the greater Fayette County area.Â
